10th Silver Cup: ESA Warriors and United CC enters semi-final

Kohima, November 19: Defending champions Esa Warriors and United Cricket Club have entered into the semi-finals of the ongoing edition of Silver Cup organized by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima at Jakhama Local Ground here.
Playing the first quarter final, Esa Warriors defeated Kohima Hornbills by 7 wickets.
Winning the toss, Kohima Hornbills elected to bat and set a minimal target of 101 runs losing all wickets in 20 overs with Imo scoring highest 33 runs.
Chasing the target, the defenders achieved it losing 3 wickets in 14.3 overs. Kalyan contrjbuted 53 and was supported by Deepak’s 30 runs.
Man of the match went to Hanilong of Esa Warriors for taking 4 wickets giving 19 runs.
In the second quarter Fina, United CC won against Valour CC by 36 runs.
Electing to bat first, United CC were all out scoring 137 runs in 18.1 overs with Md. Afzal Hussain scoring a huge 70 runs. Valour CC bowlers Santosh took 3 wickets, Sudama and Sunil took two each.
However, chasing the target Valour CC got all out scoring 102 in 19.1 overs with Bappa scoring the highest 27 runs.
United CC bowlers Amitava Das took 3 wickets. United CC won the match by 36 runs. Md.Afzal Hussain of United CC was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, the oeganising committee convener John Thakuri has informed that due to unforeseen reasons the quarter final matches for November 20 has been rescheduled for November 21, while semi-finals will be played on Friday.

2. Diphu XI vs Mokokchung United at 12 Noon
